Career Information Sites

 

General Sites:

Career Categories  Click on the + sign beside the career category of your choice and then choose the specific career for further information including salary, recommended classes for high school and college, and the job outlook.

Careers - Kids.gov Scroll down through the alphabetical listings.

CareerZone Click on one of the six clusters to see all of the occupations related to that cluster.

Career Voyager Information on the US Labor Force from 1850 to 2000. You can type in a career and trace the percentage of people employed in it, or scroll over the lines on the graphs for specific information for a specific decade.  For recent careers scroll up the outer edge for 2000 to see what the current jobs are.

Chronicle Career Library Click on Alphabetical List of Occupations and then click on the letter of the alphabet for the first letter of your career, or scroll through the list.

The Fun Works Click on the appropriate category.

Job Profiles Click on a category on the left-hand side of the screen and then scroll down through the careers.

Job Stars Guides for specific careers-- These sites are packed with information about planning your career. What kind of training or education is required? What can you earn? What kind of environment will you work in? What's hot? What's not? Some sites include personal stories from folks working in the field: how did they move (or stumble) into their current work situation? What advice would they give newcomers?

MyPlan.com Use either the Career Database under "Careers" or search Majors Database under "Majors" for information on specific careers.

Occupational Outlook Handbook Click on the first letter of the occupation that you researching.  Scroll down the alphabetical listing of careers and click on a career.

Salary Information Just click on your job description for your information.

Vocational Information Center Choose a general category and it will open up to a long list of careers plus the skills employers want, find a trade school, research technical topics and take a look at the current job market.

Today's Military - Either browse by Career Families or Search All Careers.

U.S. Air Force Click on Careers and then on “Enlisted Careers”, “Officer Careers”, or “Healthcare Careers”.

US Army-  Careers & Jobs Scroll down to either “Search Careers and Jobs” or to “Browse Career and Job Categories” for further information.

U.S. Coast Guard - Careers Scroll down to “Enlisted Ratings” or “Officer Careers” or “USCG Reserve”.

US Navy Careers Scroll down for the various careers that are available in the Navy.


Brochure Template Double-click on link.  Click on File, Save As.  For the location find your folder under your teacher's name in the network Student Folder.  Open your folder. Click on Save.  Close this web page.  Using the template, type in your information for your brochure.
